MANAGER FEDERAL REGULATORY AFFAIRS

The American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons seeks an experienced professional to join our team in handling Congressional matters in the Washington office. This individual will analyze and monitor Federal legislation of interest to the orthopaedic community; attend meetings and Congressional hearings on health policy and/or regulatory issues, research and write testimony and comments, serve as a liaison to selected committees, councils and coalitions.  Requires:  Bachelor’s degree; 3-5 years of related experience such as in a Congressional office, regulatory agency, or professional or trade association; strong oral and written communications skills; excellent organization and interpersonal abilities; and ability to travel 15 days/year.  Highly desirable:  an advanced degree or graduate level coursework in law, health policy, or a related field.
