Legislative Counsel -- House Member Personal Office

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL: House Republican Member seeks Legislative Counsel with responsibility for education & the workforce, health care and judiciary related portfolios. Primary responsibility will be staffing member on the Education & Workforce Committee with a focus on developing strategies to address regulatory overreach and promoting good government. Responsibilities include developing and recommending legislative initiatives, tracking legislative developments, preparing briefing materials/talking points, and representing the Member in meetings. Strong communication and writing skills and the ability to conduct robust legal research and analysis are essential, as well as the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. A J.D. and previous experience working on Capitol Hill is required. Candidate must share philosophical commitment to conservative principals and fiscal responsibility.
