Manager, Government & Industry Relations -- CME Group

Mgr Government Relations Locations: Chicago Description Manager, Government & Industry Relations Supports strong cross-functional coordination and alignment with CME Group's Washington and global legislative and regulatory strategies and activities; and Coordinates government relations and industry engagement related projects in support of policy, regulatory, and business objectives globally; The Manager, Government & Industry Relations key activities include: Track legislative and regulatory topics and implications for business lines and key customer groups in the U.S. and in key regions and countries globally. Prepare presentations, issue briefs, and talking points for executives, internal teams, and in some cases, external audiences and related to U.S. and international legislative, policy and regulatory topics to ensure alignment of messages and positions with our Washington and global legislative objectives. When appropriate, support coalition building efforts with other exchanges, clearinghouses, commercial end-users, buy-side and sell side customers and industry associations to advance CME Group¿s policy objectives (e.g. Basel leverage ratio, commodity position limits, etc.). Support the planning of and CME Group executive-level participation in visits by government officials and regulator to CME Headquarters (e.g. visits from European, Asia, other government bodies) to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with CME Group¿s government relations strategy. Manage CME Group involvement in industry associations globally to ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with policy and business objectives. Qualifications BA / BS degree in Business, Economics, Political Science or related discipline required / Masters degree preferred 3+ years related experience in government affairs, industry relations, strategy, or corporate relations Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrated through experience developing a range of communications, presentation, and other deliverables Excellent organizational and project management skills Proven analytical skills and the ability to organize complex information into user-friendly formats Strategy development and execution experience As the world’s leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, CME Group (www.cmegroup.com) is where the world comes to manage risk.
