The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is currently accepting applications for Fall 2012 entry into the Mercatus MA Fellowship program. With just a few days left to apply, the deadline is currently April 20th.
The Mercatus MA Fellowship is a competitive program for students who are interested in pursuing an advanced degree in applied economics in preparation for a career in public policy. Full tuition and a generous stipend are included in the fellowship which is aimed at students interested in advanced training in economics, but who do not anticipate a career in academia.
While earning an MA in economics from George Mason University, Mercatus MA Fellows work 20 hours a week with Mercatus Center scholars and have the opportunity to author or co-author policy studies, academic papers, and op-eds. Graduates have gone on to positions in a number of government agencies including the Joint Economic Committee, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, as well as non-profit policy research centers.
Interested students must apply for admission into the GMU MA program and the Mercatus MA fellowship simultaneously. More information about the program is available at http://grad.mercatus.org/graduate/ma-fellowship. Interested students should feel free to get in touch with Leck Shannon at MAFellows@mercatus.org with questions or to discuss whether they might be good candidates for the program.
Thank you for the posts. I found the information to be informative and useful.
