Description:
Marketing & Corporate Communications works strategically with Sales and Account Management across all divisions to manage relationships, win new business and retain existing clients. We also provide strategic planning and communications counsel for key corporate initiatives, as well as tactical and creative support for areas throughout the organization, including Product Management, Human Resources and Information Systems. Broadly, we are responsible for all corporate messaging and communications management. Other areas of responsibility include: - Corporate proposal database - Commercial and Labor proposal operations - Public affairs and media relations - Corporate events and experiential marketing - Employee, client and member communications
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for managing marketing and communications programs in support of the Express Scripts Consumerology platform. The position optimizes the business-to-business communication of Express Scripts Consumerology insights and solutions, reinforcing the companys reputation as the leader in applying the behavioral sciences to healthcare. This manager is involved in all stages of the development and execution of integrated marketing communications plans and campaigns, working cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution across a variety of channels for multiple audiences. The position ensures strong strategic and creative collaboration between marketing and innovation teams and infuses Consumerology insights and messaging into all relevant marketing touchpoints. The manager plays a leading role in marketing the Express Scripts Research & New Solutions Lab, coordinating the Ignite Symposium, driving internal and external Consumerology-driven communications, collaborating on Consumerology-based product marketing efforts, and supporting other initiatives as needed. The senior manager works with teams responsible for research and innovation, product management, marketing, communications, events, digital, public and government affairs, sales and account management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Strategic marketing and communications planning: Develops innovative and impactful marketing and communications plans for the companys Consumerology platform. Consults with internal clients on communications opportunities and recommends strategies. 2.Message development and management: Develops and extends core Consumerology messaging platforms for use with internal and external audiences. Serves as the senior writer, editor and message manager for Consumerology-related marketing and communications campaigns. 3.Marketing and communications execution: Manages the tactical implementation of marketing and communications programs for Consumerology across multiple channels. Develops engaging materials and experiences for key audiences. Ensures cross-functional alignment and enables timely execution of high-quality deliverables. 4.Marketing management: Works to continually optimize the use of internal and external resources to meet program commitments. Supervises contractor and agency resources as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field. Training in social sciences or behavioral sciences helpful. -MBA or other masters degree preferred. -Project management training a plus. -8-12 years in progressively advanced marketing or communications roles in a complex industry such as health care, technology, e-commerce, telecommunications or financial services. -Experience in pharmacy benefit management or related fields strongly preferred. -Innovation experience preferred. -Excellent oral and written communications skills. -Outstanding writing and editing capabilities. -Writing samples expected. -Strong interpersonal communications, listening, collaboration and relationship-building skills. -Superior time management and project management skills. -Advanced computer skills, especially using Microsoft Office suite (i.e., PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Word, Visio, Communicator, Outlook, and SharePoint). -Results-oriented, project-focused, mission-driven collaborator with unusually high work ethic and whatever it takes mentality. -Track record of exceeding expectations, innovating and excelling in a high-performance culture. -Proven ability to manage successful marketing and communications campaigns at the corporate level. -Ability to interpret complex situations and articulate recommendations quickly, clearly and persuasively. -Demonstrated ability to mine primary and secondary research and pilot programs for marketable insights and to translate those insights into successful marketing executions and products. -Excellence in multiple marketing and communications disciplines, including product marketing, media relations and corporate communications. -Strong ability to build and manage internal and external relationships. -Proven expertise in driving results through indirect leadership of others and building cross functional teams. -Excellent judgment in dealing with sensitive information and urgent matters. -Ability to excel at tactical implementation while maintaining strategic perspective. -Understanding of behavioral sciences and healthcare trends. -Ability to work independently and flexibly, prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality. -Experience in executing B2B marketing programs for and through a sales force. -Understanding of direct-to-consumer acquisition and retention programs leveraging multiple technologies. -Ability to work under extreme pressure and strict timelines, and to thrive in a fast-paced, high demand environment that is dynamic and, at times, ambiguous.
