Experience dealing with media strongly preferred. Responsibilities include: managing Member’s interaction with the media; composing op-eds, speeches, press releases, and e-newsletters; manage and grow Member’s social media presence; develop comprehensive communication strategy. Press Secretary – The House Committee on Small Business seeks an experienced Press Secretary to be a part of an aggressive press team. Candidates should have at least two years experience as a Congressional press secretary, communications director or similar position in the private sector. Candidates must have on-the-record experience, knowledge of the legislative process, and be an excellent writer and editor. Experience on Capitol Hill is a plus. Duties include, but are not limited to, sorting incoming letters and emails, tracking and assigning mail through IQ, drafting and sending timely responses, and preparing weekly mail reports.
