Press Secretary -- House Republican Member Office

Press Secretary –Republican Member is seeking a communicator with prior congressional or political press experience to manage active press shop. The ideal candidate will be professional, possess excellent writing and oral communication skills, be proficient with social media, and have a solid understanding of developing and delivering a message to both DC and local media. Candidate must also be well organized and able to multi-task efficiently in an environment of deadlines. Additional duties include producing a weekly e-newsletter, talking points, speech writing, media event planning and development, pitching stories to local and national media outlets, and maintaining the official website. Kansas ties are a plus, but not a requirement, as is knowledge of Ways and Means Committee issues and Midwest regional concerns.
