• Conservative think tank/policy org – prefer someone excited about their work • 5 years+ experience in fundraising or sales with proven track record of success • Research, identify & target donors, build relationships, schedule meetings, maintain connections and conduct regular follow-up • Must be refined/cultured to “talk the talk” with high-end prospective donors and discuss policy issues while “selling” this prestigious organization’s mission • High energy, intellectual, policy-savvy • Exude “corporate” professionalism and able to maintain poise and composure • Employ necessary creativity to achieve goals • BA or MA from top tier school required • **Can be based in DC (preferred), San Francisco, Chicago or Houston with ability to travel 1 week/month • $100K+ depending on experience Formal job description: Team-oriented, entrepreneurial, enthusiastic individual to work within development department to help build, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with donors and prospects. Primary responsibilities include: developing and building relationships with major giving individual prospects and donors, top foundation leaders and Fortune 500 CEOs with an affinity for organization and its mission, engaging in planned giving conversations, and contacting donors regularly via phone and email. Secondary responsibilities include developing plans and goals for donors and prospects assigned, and working to improve systems for tracking prospects and building the donor pipeline.
