Two Vacancies at the US Chamber of Commerce

Senior Manager Political Affairs and Federation Relations Manage grassroots and political programs with a focus on political outreach in the Political Affairs and Federation Relations Department. RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle operations and logistics of political events; manage and execute key project elements of the field program; develop advocacy campaigns; draft talking points, documents, and background pieces; work cross-divisionally to identify message effectiveness and opportunities for issue advocacy and campaign outreach; develop strategies to increase awareness and earned media for grassroots and candidate endorsement programs; identify venues for endorsement events, press conferences, and meetings; coordinate with campaigns and businesses on event format and materials; and draft project reports and memos for senior management. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' related work experience; skilled in developing and executing budgets; excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work both independently and with a team; creative and strategic thinker; self-starter and problem solver; proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint); excellent organization and interpersonal skills; and flexibility to travel. A legislative or campaign background is preferred. Scheduler Political Affairs and Federation Relations Coordinate and schedule the day-to-day activities for the senior vice president of the department. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the senior vice president's calendar; respond to inquiries and provide customer service support to Chamber staff, consultants, and clients; perform administrative tasks including responding to telephone inquiries, making travel arrangements, and handling expense reports; manage the senior vice president's personal correspondence; and other projects as assigned. REQUIREMENTS 1-3 years of related experience; team player; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; strong communications skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines; attention to detail; excellent organization ability; proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; Web authoring experience and bachelor's degree preferred.
