ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT WORK LOCATION: WASHINGTON, DC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: The Administrative Assistant will provide general office and administrative support to the VP for Church Ministries and the Church Ministries staff. Responsibilities of this position will include providing assistance to the department VP and FRC’s Events team members in planning, organizing, and staffing special CM events, such as the Watchmen on the Wall Pastors Briefing. The incumbent in this position will also coordinate with FRC’s Web and Information Technology teams to maintain current information on the CM portion of the FRC website as well as the other websites in the CM family of websites. The Administrative Assistant for Church Ministries may also travel with the CM team to assist with regional briefings and other related meetings. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Success in the Church Ministries Administrative Assistant position demands an organized, focused, detail and task oriented, self-motivated, dependable team player with two years of education beyond the high school level and three years of experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, office manager or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate must also have high proficiency in a Windows environment, be productive and competent with the ability to carry out multiple tasks in a busy office environment. The successful candidate must also have experience in maintaining files and a keyboard speed of at least 40 cwpm. A professional telephone manner is also required and experience working with an executive is desired. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage diverse responsibilities and possess a working knowledge of public policy. Position will be open until filled. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Provide general administrative support and related services to the Executive Vice President. Resolve matters of a routine nature to conserve superior's time. Maintain regular and follow-up files and confidential data. The incumbent also provides assistance to division and/or department on special projects as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will have a High school or equivalent (College degree preferred) and four years experience as an administrative assistant, research assistant, secretary, office manager or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. College education can substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience. The successful candidate must have the ability to type at a minimum rate of 35 cwpm. The incumbent must also have strong organizational and administrative skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; and knowledge of Microsoft Word, powerpoint and Excel is required. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a knowledge and interest in conservative, pro-family public policy issues; a willingness to work hard; and an enthusiasm for FRC's mission. Position will be open until filled. AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: The Audio Visual Technician will direct/run technical aspects of webcast events, including: operate sound board(s), video switchers, and robotic cameras. When applicable, the Audio Visual Technician will direct camera operators and call camera shots. The incumbent in this position will record events using various recording media, operate/monitor webcasts during events. The Audio Visual Technician will also support technical aspects of meetings as required, including operating sounds board(s), setting up phones, setting up computers/projectors, videoconferencing, helping with PowerPoint and playing videos. The incumbent may also serve as videographer by setting up cameras and recording in a studio environment and in remote settings as needed. The Audio Visual Technician will also help edit video and audio footage using Final Cut Pro, help record weekly radio show. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must have familiarity with how to run a video switcher, experience running soundboards, experience in composing camera shots and have a good sense of what "looks good". Experience with lighting and Microsoft PowerPoint is preferred. Experience with Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools is required. This position also requires an Undergraduate degree in a related field and six months to one year of experience in the A/V arena or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are essential to success in this sometimes fast-paced environment.
