Director of Communications - Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA)

Job Description The Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) seeks an entrepreneurial leader to help shape external communications and marketing strategy for the organization and play a leading role in its implementation and execution. Reporting to the Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA), the Director of Communications has multiple responsibilities across departments within the organization, including: leading the development of and executing a comprehensive marketing program for the association, primarily for the WSWA Annual Convention & Exposition; managing and updating all online and electronic communications, including the web site and organization’s social media presence; and supporting the department’s overall communication strategy. Job Requirements The candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or communications for an association, company, government agency, congressional office or similar organization. Excellent, persuasive writing and oral communication skills are a must, as well as strong project management and organizational abilities. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, a team player, creative, and able to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines. Salary commensurate with experience.
