POSITION DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR Media Manager Media & Communications Jack Mozloom MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, business, or related field; or equivalent work experience. 2. Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in communications, public relations or journalism including familiarity with the principles of business, the courts and politics; experience in public policy and professional/media writing. 3. Must possess a broad range of knowledge in politics, policy/legislation, business/economics, educational and legal issues with the ability to simultaneously manage information from different disciplines. 4. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Twitter; audio and video skills are a plus. 5. Outstanding verbal and written communications skills; ability to write on deadline and handle multiple assignments simultaneously are essential. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Media Manager position leads, develops and implements strategies to drive member value and grow revenue through enhanced relationships with affinity providers. Incumbent develops and executes media plans that generate positive news coverage; pitch stories and build personal relationships with national press; and provide media support to FPP and all of the organization’s Foundations; write and edit all press materials. This position is also coordinates with state media managers to amplify federal public policy at the local level and produce written, audio and video materials for distribution through social media. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and/or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment and independent of direct supervision; adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures. Performs other projects as needed.
