National Manager- Media Relations-TMA00004 Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a proactive media relations program, providing pertinent information to the media, auto industry and to the public

Collaborate with top management, staff, affiliates, coworkers, external media and other relevant parties to advance and disseminate Toyota's target messaging and pertinent news

Establish and develop relationships with key journalists in and outside of the industry to ensure that Toyota's key messages are received by the intended audiences

Manage the media relations team and outside agencies to assure an organized, reliable media relations function is in place

Work closely with the GVP of Corporate Communications and affiliate groups to develop strategies that align with advertising and PR initiatives

Draft press releases, public service announcements and media advisories to place in local, regional and national news media

Support the development and execution of the annual planning and budgeting process and operate within approved budget


Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Media Relations, Journalism or related field

A minimum of 7-10 years experience in the field of public relations, media relations, community relations or related association experience

A minimum of 5-7 years supervisory experience

Very strong writing skills and superior interpersonal communication skills needed
