Grant Closeout Specialist

Summary: The Data Federal team supports the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant program. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for providing support services to facilitate the HRSA grant closeout process. HRSA is an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services whose mission is to support the healthcare infrastructure of the United States. HRSA, through the use of the grant process, provides millions of dollars in funding to grantees each year. The candidate will support the grant closeout process and the reconciliation of financial reporting. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will: • Evaluate and analyze the status of inactive grants to determine necessary steps to facilitate closeout. • Reconcile financial information provided by grantees. • Contact grantees to provide missing or incomplete information. • Respond to regularly-occurring requests for information. • Create and maintain electronic records, correspondance, checklists, document information and phone calls as needed. • Coordinate with Grant Management Specialists and other government officials to provide support and information input as directed. • Effectively interact in a timely and professional manner with a diverse group of grantees as well as coworkers. Qualifications: • Bachelor Degree and 2+ years of administrative experience in a professional environment or 4+ years of administrative experience working in a professional environment. • Excellent planning and organizational skills. • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. • Experience working in customer service and/or sales is desirable. • Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. • Ability to work and make decisions independently. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new software packages. • Ability to commit to longer hours at certain seasonal times. • Professional appearance and manner. • Experience working with databases desirable but not required. • Prior experience with the grant process desirable but not required.
