Manager, Grassroots Communications U.S. Chamber of Commerce Job Description: OVERVIEW: Manage the Chamber’s grassroots program to advance the policy and political agenda through online properties, drafting and executing advocacy communications and campaigns, and working cross-divisionally to ensure message consistency and effectiveness. The Political Affairs and Federation Relations division manages the Chamber’s relationships with local and state chambers of commerce, trade associations, and small businesses in an effort to garner grassroots and grasstops activists on legislative and political issues important to the business community. RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify opportunities to leverage the Chamber’s online and communications properties; draft communications to stakeholders on events, issue advocacy, and voter education; manage databases; develop strategies to grow the Chamber’s grassroots program and recruit target audiences; manage digital media strategies, including messaging and advocacy through social media platforms, campaigns, and emerging tools; and provide backup support for the main phone line and general administrative and research support. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ related work experience; excellent writing, communications, and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team and interact professionally with members; ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines, manage projects, and multitask; strong attention to detail, time management, and organization; and proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Web authoring. A background in digital and online media is preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
