Legislative Assistant -- House Member Personal Office
Rep. Ken Calvert, a Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, seeks a Legislative Assistant to handle legislative portfolio that includes international relations, trade, healthcare, science and space, Social Security, among other issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, staffing member for Appropriations Committee meetings and hearings, writing constituent correspondence, preparing member for briefings and floor activities, and representing member in constituent and interest group meetings. Previous Capitol Hill experience is required; an ideal candidate would have Legislative Correspondent/Legislative Assistant experience. Qualified candidates will have strong communication skills (both oral and written), show initiative in previous work experience, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
