Chief Technology Officer -- National Conference on Citizenship

Career Opportunity: Chief Technology Officer The National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC) is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to be the architect in creation of and oversee the implementation and management of the National Service Technology Platform (Platform). NCoC is a congressionally chartered organization with a proud history of convening the civic engagement field and of advancing civic strategies through research, measurement, and facilitation. Our goal is to develop the Platform in collaboration with the Franklin Project at the Aspen Institute. The Platform will form the central means by which organizations receive approval to offer national service positions; companies and individuals sponsor positions; individuals search for and rate opportunities; and organizations and corps members (and alumni) remain connected as part of a community. (http://www.aspeninstitute.org/sites/default/files/content/docs/franklin/FranklinProject_PlanofAction_final.pdf) The Chief Technology Officer should have:  At least seven to ten years of progressively responsible management/supervisory experience in information technology systems, business applications, operations, and administration.  Professional and proven experience successfully leading the development of webbased technology for certification, job search or matching, produce/service quality ratings, crowd-sourced fundraising, rewards programs and/or delivering online training.  A track record of launching one or more technology start-ups (including securing funding).  Ability to manage technology staff, vendors, and consultants.  Extremely high motivation and self-starting initiative.  Proven ability to manage a complex project to tight deadlines and proven ability to work as part of a team. Position Responsibilities include:  Work with program staff and technology partners to create and distribute RFP for the development of the platform.  Develop a detailed technology budget.  Select and manage technology vendors, contractors, and staff as needed, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of tasks, products, and materials.  Direct the strategic design, acquisition, management and implementation of the technology infrastructure for the national service technology platform.  Work closely with program staff to ensure that the technology closely tracks program design.  Support the development of the brand platform.  Continually update and iterate the technology project plan to address needs and requirements across the platform and to harness the potential of emerging technologies.  Collaborate with NCoC leadership, Franklin Project leadership, and NS Technology Platform leadership on all technology needs to ensure the successful completion of the project-related goals.  Other duties as assigned.
