Duties include the following: • Promote Medica’s business interests through the development and execution of Medica's public policy agenda and interests, and achievement of desired outcomes • Further Medica’s reputation as a thought leader in policy • Interact closely with the senior leadership team and the board and with external groups including regulators, legislators, trade associations, congressional delegates, and consumer advocates Key Accountabilities: • Develop Medica’s policy positions working with leadership throughout the organization including Commercial, State Public Programs, Center for Healthy Aging, Individual Business and Corporate • Lead and manage the department • Communicate all relevant proposed and final state and federal legislation/regulation to appropriate staff and obtain their input as dictated by business needs • Represent Medica and its public policy interests in public forums such as Trade Associations and other committees and task forces as necessary. Influence these organizations to support policy positions that are aligned with Medica • Monitor state and federal legislative and regulatory activities and appropriately assess their impact on Medica's business needs • Establish and implement legislative and regulatory strategies to achieve desired outcomes Job Requirements: Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Health care administration or Law • Master's degree in health care administration or public policy preferred or Law degree preferred • 10+ years related experience Specific types of experience: • 7+ years in health care field, with strong operational knowledge • Thorough understanding of legislative process Skills and Abilities: • Excellent oral communication skills • Excellent writing skills • Excellent judgment • Ability to present company position persuasively • Strong relationship building skills • Effective project management abilities • Solid presentation skills • Strong organizational skills • Ability to assimilate information from various sources and recommend courses of action Please mention that you saw this position posted on LobbyingJobs.com
