Communications Director -- House Member Personal Office

Communications Director The successful candidate must be a conservative, have excellent written and oral communications and people skills, political acumen and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: devising an annual communications plan to maximize direct communications with constituents that resonate and respond to their priorities; e-mail conversion; targeted communication through list acquisition, development, expansion and messaging; weekly e-newsletter; development and coordination of all franked materials including digital advertising; planning and preparation for tele-town hall meetings; updating and improving the website; drafting/distributing press releases; writing a weekly column; preparation of talking points and speeches; establishing and maintaining strong relations with local media and executing an aggressive earned local media campaign. New media skills are a plus, a desire to learn is required, including websites and e-newsletters (understanding of delivery and open rates), video, audio and/or photography and editing in those mediums. Prior TV booking experience is also a plus. The communications plan should provide for an ever increasing ability to draft and place op-ed pieces in local and national media; political press, trade association publications and major employer publications. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and be a team player. Pennsylvania ties are preferred, but not required.
