Legislative Assistant -- House Member Personal Office

Republican Congressman Scott Rigell (VA-2) is seeking a Legislative Assistant to help handle his Committee on Appropriations work as well as other related policy issues, including health care, budget, and immigration. Necessary qualifications include 3+ years of legislative Hill experience, a proven record of generating, advancing, and completing legislative initiatives, strong writing and communication skills and a thorough knowledge of the federal budgeting and appropriations process. This cannot be stressed enough. The candidate must also have a sense of urgency, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to make compelling visual charts and spreadsheets for a communications-driven office. An MBA or degree in Economics is preferred. We are seeking a pragmatic conservative that is flexible and creative, capable of working under tight deadlines, and be able to work as a team player.
