Position Title: Manager, Operations
Department: Conventions and Conferences Department
Reports to: Director, Operations
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Manager, Operations position reports to the Director, Operations in the Conventions and Conferences Department (C&C). Responsible for the operation/logistics specifically related to the Exhibition at the BIO International Convention, this position also provides logistical support for other special projects and ancillary meetings/conferences as necessary.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordination with appropriate internal staff on operational aspects of the exhibition hall including, but not limited to: all show management areas, exhibition/pavilion benefit fulfillment, ribbon cutting ceremony, overall décor and all projects/displays/events taking place within or as part of the BIO Exhibition.
· Overall management of the Exhibition Hall Hospitality Reception
- Oversight and management of the Exhibitor Appointed Contractor (EAC) pre-show tracking and onsite progress. This includes managing the Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association (vendor) an serving as the liaison between the vendor, exhibitors/pavilion organizers and BIO staff.
- Coordination with various departments in BIO on logistics for the Membership Booth/BIO Pavilion, Political Action Booth/Area, Patient Advocacy Displays when located in the exhibition hall
- Oversight and management of the Exhibitor Display Guidelines and Display approvals in coordination with the Sales Team.
- Coordination with the Marketing Team to adequately promote designated areas within the convention through the website and the printed publications
- Organization and distribution of Exhibitor Service Kits and Exhibitor Newsletter
- Assist the convention’s housing consultant management of the affiliated events program
· Management of the Exhibitor Concierge and Exhibitor Information Areas
- Supervision of temporary staff, hosts, and volunteers related to areas of management
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Previous convention exhibits experiences helpful
1-2 tradeshow operations experience helpful
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Familiar with Relationship Databases
Education and Experience Required:
College Degree preferred
