Press Secretary – Communications-driven Republican seeks an experienced Press Secretary to implement DC media strategy under the direction of district-based Communications Director. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral communications skills, political acumen and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an emphasis on delivering earned media. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: drafting/distributing press releases; writing a weekly op-ed; letters to the editor as needed; regular updating and improving the website; preparation of talking points and speeches; establishing and maintaining strong relations with local and DC media and executing an aggressive earned local media campaign. New media skills are a must, including knowledge of video, audio and/or photography and editing in those mediums. Energetic, pro-active, can-do attitude essential.
