Job Description Policy Director Chicago-120001ZY Description Basic Qualifications - Years of Experience: 10+ Scope of Responsibility/Expectation: Position Description New position created to lead Motorola Mobility’s public policy and government relations function in the States, with a focus on Illinois/Chicago and California/Sunnyvale. Position is based in Chicago. Responsible for representing MM with all relevant political constituencies in the States, as well as interacting with other tech companies and NGOs. Provide written and oral advocacy, strategic thinking, and tactical advice on major political developments affecting MM’s business interests. Department Description This role reports to Corporate Vice President and Global Head of Public Policy and Government Relations, based in Washington, D.C., and is part of the MM legal department. Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations - Develops and implements advocacy plans for the States - Advocates before legislative and executive branch agencies and officials - Interacts with other companies and NGOs - Drafts pleadings and other documents in support of advocacy plans - Partners closely with in-house legal counsel and business units - Oversees global strategy and implementation Specific Knowledge/Skills: - Law degree preferred - 10+ years of previous experience, preferably in areas related to current job description in technology/telecommunications/Internet industry - Previous experience in government a plus - Business and technology-oriented - Excellent communications skills - Leader, team player, pro-active and problem-solving attitude - Demonstration of key leadership behaviors (including ability to develop and motivate others, build support and inclusion, manage execution, show creativity, drive and initiative, establish trust and respect) - Ability to manage teams but also execute tactical details. - Superior strategic, operational and inter-personal skills ExperiencedDirector Job Government Relations Primary Location United States-Illinois-Libertyville Full-time Job Posting Master's Degree
