To Apply: http://lobbyingjobs.com/display-job/10437/Director-Govt-Affairs-&-Public-Policy.html Director Govt Affairs & Public Policy Location: Fort Worth, Texas Organization: Novartis Pharmaceuticals Job Description: Develop and carry out Novartis’ health policy agenda for Alcon’s ophthalmic products franchise. • Work with Regulatory Affairs to develop and carry out Alcon’s health policy agenda for FDA regulatory policy issues, including user fees, pre-approval requirements, post-market surveillance, sales and marketing communications, and clinical trials. • Work with pharmaceutical Managed Care and Medicare Part B reimbursement teams to develop and carry out Alcon’s policy agenda for Medicare and Medicaid formularies and Medicare reimbursement in hospital outpatient departments and ambulatory surgery centers. • Develop Alcon relationships with external policy stakeholders such as industry trade associations, hospital and ASC associations, patient advocacy groups, and professional societies. • Direct Alcon’s health policy agenda in relevant areas, including healthcare reform provisions, the federal budget, drug reimportation, drug and device supply chain, clinical data registries, Part D, comparative effectiveness, pay-for-performance, NTIOL, and the hospital outpatient pass-through program. Develop programs and positions to support Alcon’s priorities. • Closely coordinate with the managers of Alcon’s ophthalmic drugs, surgical products, and contact lens products franchises. • Represent Alcon in trade association policy work groups and other forums. Job Requirements: Minimum requirements BA required - Masters preferred Minimum 10 years of professional experience with at least 5 years of related policy experience, including pharmaceutical industry experience, device industry experience, or government experience.
