Government Relations Associate -- DC-Based Government Relations Firm
Government Relations Associate An established DC-based government relations firm seeks a highly motivated self-starter for a Government Relations Associate position in its DC office. The firm represents a wide range of clients, generally focused on the transportation industry, including Fortune 500 corporations, trade associations, start-ups, and public agencies. The Associate position will be responsible for helping manage a diverse set of issues and clients while advancing their government relations agendas on Capitol Hill and before the executive branch. A minimum of 3 years of full-time post college work experience is required, as is substantive legislative experience on Capitol Hill as an LA or LD, or its equivalent. Experience with transportation policy issues is preferred, but not required. State or local government experience is a plus. The successful candidate should be able to work independently, be flexible, multi-task effectively, think fast, and have a good attitude. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and strong organizational and time management skills are a must. Proficiency with basic office computer programs is expected. An undergraduate degree is required; advanced degrees are welcome. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The office is located on Capitol Hill within walking distance from Union Station.
