The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) seeks a personable, creative,
energetic, hard-working and committed professional to serve as Government & Public
Affairs Associate. This position is based in Washington, DC and will report to the Vice
President of Government & Public Affairs. The individual will be expected to perform

Political Communications
- Generate daily content for the department’s Facebook, Twitter and other social media
accounts based on public policy issues affecting interior designers
- Work closely with the ASID Marketing and Communications Department on:

- Drafts for approval a plan to educate ASID members and other key stakeholders on the
impact interior designers have on codes
- ASID headquarters staff liaison to code-writing organizations such as the International
Codes Council, National Fire Protection Association and built environment stakeholders
who also maintain a codes council
- Routinely will represent ASID at both private and public sector codes stakeholder
meetings and events
- Works with ASID lobbying team to establish relationships with appropriate U.S. House
and Senate congressional committees and federal departments
Ethics and Administration
- Manage all duties and responsibilities associated with enforcing the ASID Code of Ethics
and Professional Conduct for members of the Society

Qualifications and Requirements
