Fall Intern - Capitol Hill internship available for the fall term to assist Congressman Ed Royce (CA-40) and his staff in the overall day-to-day operations of the office by answering telephones, greeting visitors, guiding tours of the Capitol, investigating constituent requests, and drafting responses. As an intern, you will be assigned research projects as needed. Interns have the opportunity to attend committee hearings and otherwise take advantage of the unique perspective of Capitol Hill. We make it a priority to give our interns a first-hand view of the legislative process and we make every effort to provide them with a worthwhile learning experience. This is an excellent opportunity for current college students or recent graduates interested in obtaining Capitol Hill experience. Unpaid Intern - Congressman John C. Fleming, M.D. (LA-04) seeks qualified, intelligent, conservative minded individuals to intern in his Washington D.C. office unpaid starting as soon as but not limited to August 23, 2010 until November 2, 2010. Duties include answering phones, sorting mail, data entry, attending briefings, writing about and researching legislation, and giving Capitol tours. Applicants should be proficient on Microsoft Word and Excel and have a strong work ethic. Applicants with at least introductory knowledge of the legislative process are preferred. Class credit is available. Intern (Immediate Opening) - The Office of Congressman Steve Scalise (LA-1) is currently seeking applicants for an unpaid internship, available to work through the month of August. Candidates should have a strong work ethic and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include: Managing phones, mail sorting/data entry, constituent tours of the Capitol, and other projects delegated by staff. Unpaid Interns - Republican Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) is seeking unpaid interns for the fall of 2010. Candidates should have an interest in public policy. Interns will have the opportunity to attend committee hearings and briefings for staff members, assist in the constituent correspondence process, as well as assist with other constituent services. Responsibilities include: taking phone calls, processing constituent mail, and performing other general office duties. Applicants should be interested in the legislative process, enthusiastic, reliable, and hard-working. Full or part time internships with flexible schedules are available. Interns - The office of Congressman Buck McKeon (CA 25), Ranking Republican member of the House Armed Services Committee, is seeking unpaid Interns to fill positions for Fall/Winter 2010. Main responsibilities include answering phones, processing mail, drafting constituent correspondence letters, researching legislative issues, attending meetings/hearings as needed. There will also be opportunities to attend receptions and seminars that interest you. Candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and computer-literate. This is a great opportunity for college students seeking academic credit. Applicants must be able to make a minimum commitment of four days a week. California ties a plus.
