Legislative Correspondent – Texas Republican seeks Legislative Correspondent to manage all aspects of constituent correspondence. Duties include: sorting incoming letters and emails, tracking and assigning mail through constituent management software, drafting and sending timely responses, and preparing weekly mail reports. Successful candidates must demonstrate exceptional writing ability and attention to detail, and possess excellent research and organizational skills. New Media Coordinator – Very conservative Southern member of Congress is seeking a tech-savvy, energetic, and creative New Media Coordinator, who has multi-media and web experience. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining innovative, high quality social media, putting together videos and other visuals to highlight the office’s legislative and district initiatives, and thinking creatively to find new, cutting-edge ways to communicate to constituents and the press. Experience with Final Cut editing software is a plus. Candidates with a year of communications or new media experience are preferred. Scheduler – Congressman Steve King (IA-5) is now accepting applications for the position of scheduler in his Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: scheduling an active Member of Congress in Washington, making travel arrangements for the member, and completing other clerical general office management work as assigned. Applicants should be committed, pro-life conservatives. Candidates must possess initiative, enjoy working with a variety of people, have strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. Internship – The office of Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) is looking for a new media intern for the spring and summer of 2012 for our Washington, D.C. office. We are looking for highly qualified candidates that are motivated, detail-oriented, and personable. The ideal candidates will have a background in journalism or public relations with a new media focus and a strong interest in digital media. A basic knowledge of graphic design, video, audio, and/or photography and editing in those mediums is a must (i.e. PhotoShop, Premier Plus, etc). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: drafting/distributing social media posts; monitoring social media and other news sources; attending press conferences & briefings; and working with the Press Secretary on photography and editing.
