Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation Seeking Southeastern States Manager Description States in Region: AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, OH, SC, TN, and WV. Description The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation is seeking a Southeastern States Manager to manage the region's state affairs. In the Southeastern region you will serve as an interface with the existing regional state legislative sportsmen's caucuses under the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses (NASC) program and respective members of the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus (GSC) program by providing counsel, tracking and disseminating information regarding relevant legislative, administrative (regulatory) and programmatic issues and caucus infrastructure. This position also serves as the lead contact for the respective state natural resource agencies, industry partners and non-governmental organizations, and includes responsibility for organizational, event planning, and fundraising assistance. The Southeastern States Manager will also serve as a point of contact for states establishing a caucus and will assist with the formation and development of regional state advisory councils. Responsibilities Analyze and track state legislation of interest to sportsmen. Serve as point of contact for inquiries from legislators/conservation organizations interested in establishing a state caucus. Serve as a clearinghouse for information relevant to state caucus legislators about sportsmen's issues, including pertinent federal regulatory/legislative issues. Liaise and provide counsel to the various state legislative sportsmen's caucuses, GSC members and state advisory councils. Assist with events/event planning including individual state caucus events and the NASC mid-year and annual meetings. Represent CSF at state caucus functions, meetings, and events. Develop content for an electronic newsletter for state issues and state caucus activity. Facilitate communication and serve as a network between CSF partners, state and federal natural resource agencies, and members of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, the NASC and the GSC. Required Qualifications Minimum of Bachelor's Degree. Knowledge of the legislative process and experience working with state legislatures, Congress or governmental agencies. Supporter of hunting, fishing, trapping, and professional fish and wildlife management. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and process objectives with little supervision. Willingness to travel. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Willingness to train in Washington, DC for 6 months to a year.
