Communications Director – Congressman Joe Walsh, a conservative Republican in a major media market seeks an experienced and creative Communications Director. This is a very high paced office with a Member who gets a lot of media attention. Candidates must have outstanding communications skills, including speech-writing, press releases, newsletters, mass mail campaigns, new media, talking points and other written materials drafted for the Member. There is a heavy emphasis on new media, so candidates should also have experience in significant website, and social media experience. Candidates must be able to work well with other staff to develop and execute an effective communications strategy for the Member. Campaign or Hill experience is preferred. Internships – The office of Representative Reid Ribble (WI-08) is seeking qualified candidates to intern in our Washington, D.C. office. This internship is unpaid. We are interested in candidates of all academic disciplines. Interns will assist the staff with a variety of tasks, including office administration, legislative research, constituent correspondence, and other duties as assigned. Administration will include daily tasks such as welcoming guests, being aware of the Congressman’s and staff’s schedules, answering phones, constituent tours, mail administration, and other duties. Legislative research and constituent correspondence will include being aware of current and pending legislation, researching legislation for constituent correspondence, attending briefings, and other duties. Candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, a good work ethic, an ability to work independently, and the drive to take the initiative in a fast-paced environment. Internships – The Office of Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle is seeking diligent, energetic, conservative individuals for Fall Internships. Interns will be given the opportunity to develop leadership, management, and policy experience. Duties include answering phones, conducting Capitol tours, assisting staff members and Congresswoman Buerkle with achieving our legislative goals and constituent outreach. Interns will be challenged and will be given practical tools for career and academic success. Applicants should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, and able to work as part of a professional team. Twenty-fifth District/New York ties are strongly recommended.
