Two Internships with Congressman Tim Johnson

Congressman Tim Johnson’s office (R-IL) is looking for highly motivated interns for the current academic fall semester. Interns in this position will learn more about the legislative process, assist staff with research, and will write memos and letters. Applicants will have a very good work ethic, great attention to detail, and able to meet self-imposed deadlines and deadlines from staff.

Other duties include tracking bills, assisting constituents, and other general front-office responsibilities. Some knowledge of the U.S. House of Representatives as well as Illinois is preferred but not required. Congressman Johnson’s (R-IL) is seeking individuals interested in gaining experience with political/governmental communications. Participants will work directly with media strategist on media outlet outreach, website maintenance and design, social media monitoring, and will aid in production and editing of media content. Strong writing skills are necessary for this position.



Although this position primarily focuses on communications, applicants will be expected to carry out other duties including tracking bills, assisting constituents, and other general front-office responsibilities consistent with other internships on Capitol Hill.
