Government Affairs Associate
Varian Medical Systems seeks a Government Affairs Associate for its Washington D.C. Government Affairs office. Primary responsibilities include working on the federal government affairs program of the company as well as handling the administrative matters for the Washington, DC office. The position will support the federal legislative and regulatory activities of the office and assist in the direction of activities with the state program. Administrative duties include: coordinate teleconferences and other meetings, process department expense reports and invoices, and arrange travel.
Candidates must be self- starters who can maintain a fast-pace. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of healthcare policy issues as they relate to the medical device industry.
This position requires a bachelor's degree and one to two years of relevant experience on Capitol Hill or in a federal or state agency, or government relations experience. Excellent written and oral communications skills required. Experience in working with national coalitions is desirable.
The Government Affairs Associate will report to the Vice President, Government Affairs.
