Legislative Director Position

Midwest Republican Congressman seeks Legislative Director with a minimum of 3-5 years Hill experience to manage legislative staff and advance aggressive agenda across a variety of issues. Strong knowledge of Financial Services and Small Business issues preferred, but not required. Candidate should have a proven record of mentoring and training junior staff, developing and implementing legislative initiatives, and have strong writing, analytical, and team-building skills. Other responsibilities include closely monitoring district and national issues, reaching out and establishing relations with interested groups both in the district and in DC. The Congressman also chairs a subcommittee, which the successful candidate would be expected to cover. Therefore, prior experience in handling Committee work is preferred.
