Communications Director.The House Armed Services Committee seeks a Communications Director. Responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive strategic communications plan for the committee and its subcommittees; working with Chairman Howard P. “Buck” McKeon (R-Calif.), committee member offices, committee staff, Republican leadership, and outside organizations to highlight key national security and defense issues; and serving as the primary on-the-record spokesperson for the committee. Candidate should have experience managing a robust communications office, a working knowledge of national security policy and programs, an ability to multitask, significant on-the-record experience and strong writing skills. Ideal candidate has 5 years communications experience on the Hill or in the defense community. Candidate must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
