Senior Policy Advisor for the Social Policy and Politics Program
Third Way is an innovative and influential think-tank that creates and advances moderate policy and political ideas. We advocate for private-sector economic growth, a tough and smart security strategy, a clean energy revolution, bold education and anti-poverty reforms, and progress on divisive culture issues.
Third Way is seeking a Senior Policy Advisor for the Social Policy and Politics Program to be the lead staffer on our center on the center. The position will be primarily responsible for conducting original research, generating creative ideas, and providing analysis of existing polling data to help educate policymakers, advocates, and the media about the attitudes and beliefs of moderates, with the goal of broadening their understanding of the center of the electorate. This is a high profile, high impact policy position that will play a major role in shaping the direction and work of the program and will report to the Deputy Director of the Social Policy and Politics Program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ø Originating and drafting high-impact and concise written products that advance the case for a moderate-led U.S. politics;

Campus Progress at the Center for American Progress has an immediate
opening for the Journalism Network Associate. Campus Progress, part of
American Progress, helps young people make their voices heard on
critical issues.

The Journalism Network Associate will manage Campus Progress’s work
with its national network of campus-based journalism projects—student
newspapers, magazines, websites, and radio stations that receive
training, mentoring, reporting opportunities, and grants from Campus
Progress. Currently, more than 50 student-run journalism projects
around the country are active in this network. The Journalism Network
Associate is responsible for selecting and providing support to these
projects; planning and implementing programming and training for their
staffs; acting as a liaison between these campus projects and the
editorial staff of CampusProgress.org; and conducting outreach to
other campus journalism projects and journalists. The Journalism
Network Associate also will participate in planning and implementing
Campus Progress events. Participants at Campus Progress journalism

Media Manager

The American Independent News Network (AINN) seeks a dynamic
individual to manage the promotion of the Network’s amazing reporters
and hot breaking stories to outside media, including to press and
through social media. The Media Manager’s job will be to spread the
word far and wide about AINN’s journalism. This means developing
relationships with producers, bloggers, reporters at other outlets,

Responsibilities

There are two primary areas for which you, as Media Manager, will be

You will be responsible for managing and implementing all outreach to
relevant broadcast, print, and online press outlets, organizations,
websites, and more. This includes marketing our reporters and their

Purpose:
The Digital Campaign Director is responsible for working with campaign
and
organizing directors to integrate digital strategy into the organizing
work of the union. The Digital Campaign Director will be responsible

building targeted and specific email lists, running email campaigns,

with campaign and department leaders on the development of

strategy, content, and technology to advance campaign goals.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s
degree or equivalent experience required. Two to five years
experience
in online organizing. Some field organizing experience preferred.
Labor
movement experience is a plus. Other abilities include:

* Proven
experience managing strategy, content creation, and technology
acquisition and development for Web and Internet campaigns.
* Experience
developing and implementing strategy on a wide range of
campaigns,
including organizing, contract, political, and legislative, as
well as
experience working with community allies.
* Thorough knowledge of Web site development, architecture, and
navigation protocols.
* Thorough knowledge of online publishing and related use of
Internet technology for communication, education, and advocacy.
* Knowledge of the use of new technology for community advocacy.

* Knowledge of unions, the labor movement, and their mission and

The DCCC Accounting/Compliance Team is seeking an intern to assist
with daily departmental and compliance needs. Qualified applicants

Impact Research Fellow Description

Sister Cities International (SCI) is seeking a Fellow to assist with our new
Impact Initiative. Sister Cities International is a nonprofit citizen
diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between U.S. and
international communities. We strive to build global cooperation at the
municipal level, promote cultural understanding and stimulate economic
development.

*Program description:* The overarching objective of this position is to
expand outreach to youth and young professionals, create online best
practices forums, and improve SCI members’ ability to report on social and
economic impact through the long-term sister cities programs abroad.
Initially, the project will focus regionally in Asia, in particular Japan
with the compiling of information on US-Japan relationships and providing
educational information for members interested in re-invigorating their
Asian sister city relationships. This new program will include incorporating
youth and young professionals into Sister Cities International’s annual
events and launching online forums to encourage youth and young professional
involvement. The position will include a heavy research component that will
promote monitoring and evaluating in local programs’ exchanges, building a
database of economic development best practices and measuring both
quantitative and qualitative impacts.

*Duties and Responsibilities: *The Impact Research Fellowship will take
place from May 2011 through July 2013.

- Outreach to members to build a database of economic development best
practices
- Manage online resources and coordinate webinars to educate members on
youth and young professionals programming, long-term impacts of programs and
on rebuilding and initiating sister cities relationships with Japan
