This includes enrolling the business, setting priorities, developing strategy, executing, and keeping the business informed of progress. • Executes U.S. related government affairs actions for global corporate affairs market access initiatives/campaigns. • Responsible for building constituencies in Congress, the Administration, and Embassies of foreign nations. • Assists in effort to increase the capabilities of the government and corporate affairs teams to deliver on commitments. Candidate develops and trouble-shoots plans, refine work processes, and coach colleagues. • Manages and directs lobbying or related support activities of contractors. • Develops metrics, measures progress, and ensures accountability and results are recorded and utilized. • Works collaboratively to coordinate activities with Lilly Corporate Affairs colleagues. • Responsible for supporting global affiliates on items that relate to the U.S. government. Desired Skills & Experience Basic Qualifications: • Masters, JD, or advanced degree required • 3.2 GPA or higher • 5-15 years experience in government affairs or relevant experience • Fluent in English. Second language a plus. • Demonstrated organization and computer skills • Qualified candidate must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this position Additional Skills/Preferences: • Must be highly self-motivated, have a strong executive presence, and outstanding presentation skills. • Demonstrated ability to interact with people of varied backgrounds, educational levels, party affiliations, and organizational levels. • Experience in the food industry or animal agriculture preferred; international experience is encouraged. • Ability to synthesize complex issues/opportunities into simple communication materials. • Possesses exceptional judgment, ability to function and multi-task under pressure, and willingness to assume ownership of outcomes. • Must have capacity to identify, develop, and manage direct report(s). • Must possess valid passport.
