Legislative Assistant -- Brustein & Manasevit, PLLC

Job Description Established in 1980, Brustein & Manasevit, PLLC is recognized for its federal education regulatory and legislative practice. Brustein & Manasevit provides legal advice regarding federal education programs and counsels clients on federal grants management requirements such as EDGAR, OMB Circulars, and GEPA. The firm also assists clients in drafting, proposing and reviewing legislation affecting education and educational programs. The firm seeks a Legislative Assistant to monitor federal education legislation, regulations, and fiscal policy. The LA will help respond to client inquiries and needs, attend and summarize stakeholder meetings and Congressional hearings, and assist in the writing, editing, and distribution of weekly updates. The LA will also assist with some administrative tasks. The position requires: • A thorough understanding of Congress and its legislative and budgetary processes (Capitol Hill experience preferred) • The ability to analyze and summarize Federal education legislation, regulations, activities, and trends • The ability to write well, and in an engaging manner Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
