Senior Legislative Assistant - Congressman Tom Latham (IA-4) seeks an experienced Senior Legislative Assistant to handle his small business, regulation, education, labor, welfare, budget and tax portfolio. Responsibilities will include advancing the Congressman’s agenda, crafting legislation, and monitoring relevant authorizing and appropriations committee and legislative activity. The ideal candidate will possess several years of legislative experience on Capitol Hill in the relevant issue areas with a great deal of focus on small business issues and regulation reform. Candidate should have a proven record of implementing legislative initiatives and building bipartisan advocacy coalitions, and strong communications, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Unpaid Interns - Congressman Denny Rehberg's Washington D.C. Office is looking for two full time interns for Winter/Spring 2010. The ideal candidate will be a college student or recent college graduate with an interest in politics/government and possess the following skills: detail-oriented, friendly, motivated, self-starter, excellent research and writing skills and the ability to multi-task. Applicants with Montana ties are preferred. Main duties include daily front desk operations (answering phones, greeting visitors, assisting in constituent correspondence), attending committee hearings as well as working directly with the Communications and Legislative Teams on various projects. The internship offers a great opportunity for students to learn the ins and outs of Capitol Hill. Paid Internship – Alabama Republican seeking a paid mail intern who can start immediately. Internship will last through May. The primary responsibility of the position will be to assist the Legislative Correspondent with mail processing, writing, research, and various other duties as assigned. Demonstrated writing skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are a must. Alabama ties are helpful but not required and experience with IQ is a major plus.
