The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of webmaster. This position reports to the Manager of Information Systems and provides technical support for NEMA’s web strategies. The incumbent will perform website development and maintenance in a Windows server environment.
Qualified candidate should have a degree in an information systems field or equivalent IT certifications or experience. It is preferred that candidate have at least one year of web-related work experience. Candidate should posses excellent communication skills, have a willingness to take on responsibilities, strong problem-solving skills, and should work well with other staff.
The webmaster position will work full time as a salaried employee, working 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays.
Provide support to the Communications department in implementing NEMA’s web strategy, including updates to the NEMA website and NEMA related web features.
Provide backup support for content management using NEMA’s CMS.
Provide maintenance and development for NEMA’s members-only website, including workspaces, forums, and SharePoint
Develop & manage NEMA/Web business. This includes developing websites for industry related interests, managing client requests, and selling new website business.
Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
Required IT Skills:
Ability to create a website from start to finish (from domain name registration to site deployment)
Strong familiarity with a web IDE such as Dreamweaver, or Frontpage.
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office.
Desired IT Skills:
Programming experience: Java, Coldfusion, ASP, ASP.NET, or PHP
Graphical design and layout experience
Experience with a Content Management System (CMS).
Experience with SharePoint (wss v3)
Experience with Microsoft IIS

Manager, Government Relations
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association in Rosslyn, Virginia is looking for a Manager, Government Relations. The successful candidate will focus on energy policy, energy efficiency, appropriations, and related industry issues. . Involves working closely with association member executives to evaluate implications of legislative/regulatory initiatives, develop industry positions, and advocacy of positions. Activities include interacting with legislative/regulatory staff and elected officials; preparing position papers & comments, etc.; representing NEMA at hearings and consultations, industry events, and conferences; and developing and implementing strategies to achieve member objectives.
Reports to NEMA Vice President, Government Relations
Minimum 3 years legislative experience
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills - ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience managing group activities and working in a team environment
Familiarity with MS Office suite (Powerpoint, Excel, etc.)
Some travel required
BA/BS in related discipline
Solid knowledge of legislative & regulatory processes
Prior Hill or Regulatory experience
