Legislative Assistant – Congressman Tom Latham (IA-4)

Legislative Assistant – Congressman Tom Latham (IA-4) seeks a legislative assistant to handle a variety of issue areas and monitor developments throughout the legislative process. This position requires that the individual draft timely and effective constituent correspondence, write floor speeches, co-sponsorship memos and other policy-related documents. The position also requires extensive meetings and communications with constituents and constituent groups on behalf of the Member and office. The ideal candidate will be a team player that has a thorough working knowledge of the legislative process and of House organization and procedures along with superior writing, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Applicants must have a minimum of four years personal or committee office legislative experience – with at least two years experience as a legislative assistant.
