Director of Public Policy Research


International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is a global trade association representing the retail real estate industry and located in New York City.

Reporting directly to the Staff Vice President/Chief Economist, the Director of Public Policy Research will primarily be responsible for developing statistical tools (econometric models and surveys) and empirical research to generate economic and commercial real estate insights on, and thoughtful analysis of, federal fiscal and regulatory policy that have an affect on commercial real estate. This individual will create and write a series of retail real estate policy analyses and impact studies that address commercial real estate policy issues with a primary focus on the retail real estate sector. This person will also be responsible for sourcing articles, editing and acting as a co-managing editor for the association's flagship publication.

This position requires significant interaction with the association members to forge alliances and partnerships with public and private entities that will improve the association's research capacity and productivity, as well as enhance the quality of the research. In addition, this individual will work with the Global Public Policy (GPP) team to understand federal, state and local legislative issues and provide research to assist the GPP team's work.

The Director of Public Policy Research may work from either Washington D.C. or New York City office. Some travel will be required.

This person will be paid a market-competitive and performance-driven compensation package.
