Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent - The office of Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10) is looking for a Staff Assistant/ Legislative Correspondent. This position will assist with sorting and answering mail, greeting constituents, answering telephones, and assisting the legislative and communications staff as needed. This position is very writing-intensive, and good writing skills are a must. Responsibilities also include managing and hiring the DC interns and delegating their assistance to the staff. An ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Texas ties are strongly preferred. DC Press Assistant - Congressman Ted Poe (TX02) is seeking a DC Press Assistant. The successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills, political acumen and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Focus is on maximizing national media opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing and pitching to national media contacts, assist in writing and editing op-eds, drafting/distributing press releases; updating and improving the website; and preparation of talking points and speeches. Additional responsibilities to be determined based on experience. Prior communications/media relations experience, new media exposure and Texas media ties are strongly preferred. Interns - Congressman James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) is currently seeking summer interns with conservative values, who are available to start at the beginning of May. Interns will be responsible for maintaining general front office duties including answering phones, conducting and scheduling tours, logging and writing office correspondence, and a variety of other administrative tasks. Applicants should be detail oriented, punctual, and have excellent communication skills. Wisconsin ties are preferred.
