Press Secretary - Congressman Steve King is seeking a entrepreneurial-minded, D.C. based Press Secretary to oversee his media strategy and work with both Iowa and national press. Candidates must have outstanding writing skills and previous experience working with national and local media, must be self-starters with new media savvy and the ability to think creatively and generate new ideas, and must be able to work under pressure to respond quickly to deadlines and media opportunities. Duties include: drafting op-eds and press releases, developing national and local media outreach strategies, providing content for the website, building relationships with the media, and tracking press clips. Applicants should be committed, pro-life conservatives. Iowa ties are a plus. Legislative Correspondent - The Office of Congressman Conaway (TX-11) is looking for a legislative correspondent. Core responsibilities include providing research for and responding to letters from constituents, as well as assisting the legislative and communications staff as needed. Qualified applicants must demonstrate strong research, writing, and communication skills. In addition, they should be well organized, thorough and detail oriented. Future opportunity to develop a legislative portfolio exists, although not immediately. West Texas ties preferred, but Texas ties are a must. Staff Assistant - Congressman Randy Neugebauer (TX-19) is seeking a Staff Assistant for the DC office. General responsibilites incude greeting visitors, answering phones, scheduling tours, processing flag requests, and coordinating interns. Attention to detail, constituent service, conservative values and strong communication skills are essential. 19th District of Texas ties strongly preferred, as well as Hill internship experience.
