One of America’s most distinguished grassroots lobbying organizations and the primary institution working to ensure America’s relationship with Israel is looking for a new Director of Media Relations.    The ideal candidate is a professional with 7 – 15 years experience in media, politics or advocacy with a sophisticated ability to develop relationships, superlative oral and written communications skills and a commitment to America and Israel’s future.   Knowledge of the Middle East and the legislative and policy process is highly desirable.  We offer an exceptional benefits package.  Salary commensurate with experience.

Specific job responsibilities will include:

Participate as part of a senior communications team responsible for developing AIPAC’s message on a wide range of policy and institutional issues.

Outreach to all echelons of the media, including diplomatic, congressional and White House correspondents, Jewish and Israeli press, policy magazines, Internet media, etc. with a view toward developing meaningful relationships.

Manage incoming press inquiries.

Organize events and briefings as appropriate to provide background and perspective to key media influentials.

Formulate and execute the press component at AIPAC’s Annual Policy Conference, the largest gathering of the pro-Israel community and one of Washington’s most significant political events.

Recruit participants for and lead educational seminars in Israel for media professionals.
