Press Secretary – Communications-driven Republican seeks an experienced  Press Secretary to implement DC media strategy.  The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral communications skills, political acumen and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an emphasis on delivering earned media.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: drafting/distributing press releases; writing a weekly op-ed; letters to the editor as needed;  regular updating and improving the website; preparation of talking points and speeches; establishing and maintaining strong relations with local and DC media and executing an aggressive earned local media campaign.  New media skills are a must, including knowledge of video, audio and/or photography and editing in those mediums.  Energetic, pro-active, can-do attitude essential. Please send cover letter, resume, references and two writing samples to pressjob@mail.house.gov.

Legislative Assistant - The Office of Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) is seeking a proactive Legislative Assistant to whose primary focus will be administration of the Victims Rights Caucus.  In addition, a successful candidate will be responsible for Small Business, House Administration, Consumer Protection, and Government Reform. Responsibilities of this position will include writing legislative mail, briefing the Congressman on relevant policy developments, formulating legislative proposals, interacting with bi-partisan caucus and staffing the Member on all of the responsibilities related to the Victims Rights Caucus.  Strong writing and interpersonal skills are a must.  The ideal candidate will have several years of Hill experience, able to manage multiple projects at the same time and perform well under tight deadlines. Strong writing, analytical skills and a proven legislative track record of implementing legislative initiatives and building coalitions are a must. Staff Assistant – Congressman Ted Poe (TX-02) has an opening for a Staff Assistant in the Washington, DC office.  This position assists in managing office functions, maintains office equipment, furniture, supplies, and filing systems. Intern - Congressman John Sullivan seeks an individual to fill an internship position for Spring 2011. Perfect opportunity to gain Hill experience. General responsibilities include greeting visitor, answering phones, opening and sorting mail. Additional duties may include conducting research, attending hearings, handling constituent correspondence and assisting other staff members. Oklahoma ties are a plus but not mandatory. The candidate will gain valuable Hill experience by assisting the Congressman’s staff with legislative research, drafting press releases, responding to constituent mail, and providing Capitol tours. Press Secretary/Communications Director –The office of Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson of Pennsylvania’s Fifth Congressional District is interviewing for the position of  Press Secretary/Communications Director. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral communications skills and previous media experience on and/or off the ‘Hill’.  Pennsylvania ties are helpful, but not necessary.
