Executive Assistant/Scheduler- NJ Republican has an immediate opening for an Executive Assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: handling all scheduling requests, coordinating member and staff travel/reimbursement, handling Member’s personal correspondence, overseeing the Member’s Representational Allowance, and various other office management responsibilities. The ideal candidate would be highly organized, practice discretion and candidates must be able to multi-task. Salary commensurate with experience. Military Legislative Assistant – NJ Republican seeks a Military Legislative Assistant to assist with work on the House Armed Services Committee. This individual will also be responsible for issues concerning veterans and foreign policy. The ideal candidate will have excellent research, communication and writing skills and at least two years of legislative or defense-related experience. Staff Assistant: Southern Conservative Member is looking to hire a new staff assistant whose primary responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering telephones, providing tours and arranging tour requests, managing intern program, sorting mail, filing flag requests, maintaining website, and assisting with other general office duties. Successful candidates must be extremely organized, personable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Previous Hill experience is required and Southern ties are strongly preferred. Winter/Spring Internship – Republican Congressman Lee Terry (NE-02) seeks an intern to work in his Washington, D.C. office, beginning in January.  A qualified applicant will have strong Midwest ties. This position will provide the opportunity to attend committee hearings, conduct research for legislative staff, and experience all aspects of work in a congressional office. Administrative duties will include answering the phone, sorting mail and other tasks as assigned. The start date and hours are flexible, and rate of pay will be determined accordingly. A candidate should be a currently enrolled undergraduate student or recent college graduate, and may apply by sending his or her cover letter, resume and one brief writing sample to brenda.plantikow@mail.house.gov.
