Staff Assistant - Representative John Carter(TX-31) is looking for a Staff Assistant for his DC office. Successful candidates must have excellent organizational, personal, writing, and communication skills. This is an entry level position. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, arranging tours, filling flag requests, answering phones, sorting mail, and serving as intern coordinator. Texas ties strongly encouraged. Staff Assistant/Systems Administrator – Southern Republican seeking a Staff Assistant/ Systems Administrator.   The primary responsibility of the position will be to answer phones, troubleshoot computer and blackberry issues, maintain the website, assist the press secretary with new media and various other duties as assigned.  New media skills are a must, including knowledge of video, audio and/or photography and editing in those mediums.  Demonstrated writing skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are also important.  Alabama ties are helpful but not required. Unpaid Intern - Congressman John C. Fleming, M.D. (LA-04) seeks qualified, intelligent, conservative minded individuals to intern in his Washington D.C. office unpaid.  Duties include answering phones, sorting mail, data entry, attending briefings, writing about and researching legislation, and giving Capitol tours.  Applicants should be proficient on Microsoft Word and Excel and have a strong work ethic.  Applicants with at least introductory knowledge of the legislative process are preferred. Interns - The office of Congressman Buck McKeon (CA-25), Chairman-Elect of the House Armed Services Committee, is seeking unpaid Interns to fill positions for Winter/Spring 2011, (January – May). Main responsibilities include answering phones, processing mail, drafting constituent correspondence letters, researching legislative issues, attending meetings/hearings as needed.  There will also be opportunities to attend receptions and seminars that interest you. Candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and computer-literate. This is a great opportunity for college students seeking academic credit.
