| Job Description Established in 1980, Brustein & Manasevit is recognized for its federal education regulatory and legislative practice. Located in Georgetown, Brustein & Manasevit provides legal advice regarding federal education programs. The firm counsels clients on federal grants management requirements, such as EDGAR the OMB Circulars, and GEPA. The firm also assists clients in drafting, proposing and reviewing legislation affecting education. The firm seeks a Legislative Director to keep its clients informed on Federal legislative and regulatory activities, to respond to client needs and to train clients on changing law. The position requires: · An understanding of federal education law and policy · Connection to the education policy community in Washington DC, and in the States · The ability to analyze and summarize Federal education activities and trends · The ability to write well, and in an engaging manner · Enjoyment of public speaking/presentations · The talent to thrive in a fast paced, small law Firm environment A JD and experience in Congress is preferred.
