Communications Director - Southern Republican Office seeks a qualified and experienced press operative to handle all aspects of the communications and press operation. Responsibilities will include writing press releases, floor statements, and weekly columns for the e-newsletter. This person will also be responsible for all website content, social media, and franking communications. Salary will commensurate with experience. Legislative Assistant – Wisconsin office is seeking an experienced legislative assistant to handle military issues, foreign affairs, other issues. The position requires a strong background in defense policy as well as creativity and strong writing skills. Prior Hill experience is required; candidates with more than two years are encouraged to apply. Wisconsin ties preferred, but not required. Scheduler/Executive Assistant - The office of Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH-5) is seeking candidates for the Scheduler/Executive Assistant position in the Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include scheduling both district and DC meetings and events for the Congressman; maintaining executive correspondence; and assisting with other executive assistant/office manager duties as assigned. Candidates must have excellent people skills, be courteous, detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated. This is a fast-paced position that requires someone who can multi-task and be a team player. Ohio ties a plus, but not required. Previous scheduling experience is also a plus, but not required. Fall Interns - Congressman Ted Poe’s DC office is seeking unpaid interns for the Fall 2010 semester. Main responsibilities include answering phones, drafting letters, researching legislative issues, attending meetings/hearings as needed and giving tours of the Capitol. Candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team-player, flexible, and computer-literate. This is a great opportunity for college students seeking to gain academic credit. Candidates interested in gaining experience with the Foreign Affairs and Judiciary committees are encouraged to apply. Texas ties a plus.
