Government Affairs--Society of American Florists

Lobbyist -- National trade association in Alexandria, Virginia, is looking for a seasoned lobbyist to help develop, direct and conduct aggressive lobbying campaigns on issues affecting the U.S. floral industry. The Society of American Florists, representing growers, wholesalers and retailers of flowers and plants nationwide, needs someone to focus primarily on small business issues. Candidate will identify issues of importance, develop strategies and tactics for lobbying campaigns and implement approved strategies. Candidate must also
have a history of collaborative effort with coalitions and established contacts on Capitol Hill and in federal agencies.

In addition, the individual in this position will help plan and implement an annual legislative conference and an ongoing grassroots program. The successful candidate will also possess experience working with political action committees.

A proven track record of interaction with association members is important for this position, as are demonstrated writing and interpersonal skills.
